Tchiyiwe Chihana speaks with Chim’Di, Communities Coordinator at Showroom Cinema, about the development of Black History Month: We Are the Storytellers.
The conversation looks behind the programme at the relationships, community partnerships and creative process that have shaped this year’s season. We Are the Storytellers is a youth-led film and arts programme developed with five Sheffield youth groups, bringing young Black creativity into the cinema through film, workshops, performance and community-led events.
The programme runs at Showroom Cinema from 3 October to 5 November 2026, including contributions from 6+1 The Movers, Poets Yield Power, Site Gallery Creative Producers and Sharrow Young Leaders.
